Wow! Those Animax bastards are really promoting piracy. Not releasing older dubs on DVD, and not airing re-runs when requested.

But Inuyashakagomef, dubbed versions of 07-Ghost and Letter Bee should be airing later. And most of their anime is in dubbed.
They just intend to keep us drooling don't they.

I would like to see Anime dubs and subs flood the market on DVDs. The $5 DVD market is booming, and money could be made even at those prices. The problem is that people want to charge $20 and more for a DVD with 4 episodes on it, and most young people cannot afford that. Frankly, us older fans can't afford it, either.

Economics, economics.

People charge higher because not many people pay for them.

Anime is a niche market so low prices cannot be expected sadly. :(

I hope thats sarcasm. I say Animax dub of Naruto would be disasterous!!!!  o_O

The current anime DVD prices are no where near what used to be, since the demise of ADV, Geneon. DVD price of most of the studios are at par, except a few such as - Aniplex of America.

Still if one wants more bang for the buck:

  • Buy complete collection, rather than single discs.
  • Avoid premium edition and settle for regular edition.
  • Keep an eye on online stores such as - amazon, deepdiscount, rightstuf, where you can avail 40% - 60% discount during studio sale/Christmas sale.
  • Wait for a while rather than buying the series as soon as it is released.

Subbed only series usually costs less than a dubbed one. Personally, I don't mind if they release subbed only as long as it keeps the cost down.

I think the US VAs are better qualified and more in profession.
The sound quality of Animax dub sucks, especially in the later episodes. The VAs often got too excited and shout their voice too loud, causing noises of shock wave, and the mixing is bad, too. Sounds they're on a hurry finishing this job.

I agree. Animax (and really all Asian dubs) do not sound as good as ones produced in North America. The acting is at times wooden. That said, I'd rather have an Animax dub than no dub.
