In an Era where the wearing of swords is prohibited, a wanderer walks into town with one dangling at his side.......he looks young.......with blood red hair........as he gets closer you see a cross shaped scar on his left cheek.........Who is this man....?

Evil Doers and Oppressors of the weak beware! Kenshin Himura the Rurouni has come to town!!

'Rurouni' was made up by Nobuhiro Watsuki a combination of 'Rurou' = Vagabond and 'Ronin' = Masterless Samurai.

The name 'Kenshin' was derived from the word 'henshin' = Change of Heart

He is a man with a bloody past. A past with which he is constantly wrestling in order to retain his humanity and his soul........He wants to repent for his past sins in any way that he can and so he uses his Sakabato i.e. his Reverse Blade sword (Sakabato is the correct spelling BTW) to protect those that he can......

In the Bakumatsu (Correct Spelling again) he was known as Hitokiri Battosai (Correct Spellings again).....The Manslayer with complete mastery of the Battojutsu and the secret school of the Hiten Mitsurugi.......he fought with the Royalists and dueled with the fearsome Shinsengumi on many occasions.......He was known to be a cold blooded killer back then...... an assassin who made the 'bloody rain' fall.......

Now he has decided to settle in a sleepy town and live with Kaoru who is the owner of a dying Martial Arts Dojo (Kamiya Kasshin Ryu).....the anime follows his adventures as he meets new people and makes new friends and how he deals with the ghosts of his past......

This is the Kenshin FC. All Kenshin lovers come on in.......

but i must tell this, kenshin succeeded in shedding his past only because of the kenshingumi. its not possible to shed ur past so easily with the society picking on u ie., if they know ur past.

Your knowledge is correct. But since I don't know japanese, I shan't say anything about this immediately.

However, I also know very little of Kenshin's past. So what ever has been said of his past are known through dialouges that other characters make during the anime... Only in the Shishio season is more made known about kenshin's past.

I'm really not used to random splitting. In Sanskrit we have a fixed set of rules that determine how we split a word. (Samas and Sandhi... ring any bell?? )

There must be some sort of rule like that in Japanese too. We can't just rely on a reason just because it sounds good...

What do you guys think about Kenshins preaching when he is fighting? I think all his speeches should be saved for the time after the fight...... cause it totally breaks the rhythm of the fight........ but I think most people dont mind it.......

Naturally... It give me a feel of Hindi movies... All dialouges and less action... However, the action in RK esp the Kenshin ones are ultimate if you ask me... and hence it wins over by any Hindi movie by a large gap...

heh... i'm a HUGE kenshin fan..
as for his "preaching" between fights, like tsunami and SG, he does not really like fighting... he just does it to save himself and his frnds... so he tries to reason with the enemy and stop bloodshed.. he's been thru enuf bloodshed IMHO..

Like I said..... each one is free to have their own opinion......

As for the action..... it is good.... but it could have been waay better..... even with the preaching....... all they needed to do was to remove the flashing effects when he uses his special moves and instead try to show us what actually happens........
