Wakizashi: Secondary sword generally worn by Samurai..... It is usually of a length between that of a Kodachi and Katana (Basically a Medium length sword)

If you watch more Samurai Anime you will notice that nearly all of them show that the Samurai's are carrying 2 swords strapped to their waist......)

1st sword is the primary sword (Generally full length Katana)

the 2nd sword is called a Wakizashi (Irrespective of its length)

Yes he did.... it was shown in the movie and the OVA's

I was mistaken a little about the Wakizashi.... its usual length may be the same or smaller than that of a Kodachi.

However that does not usually matter..... because the second statement holds true.... Any secondary sword can be called a Wakizashi.

Kyuzo from shinchin samurai used two katanas.Aoshi uses two kodachis.Kodachis are shorter than kantanas and are used mostly for defence.A kodachi is too short to be a sword and too long to be a dagger. It is mostly used as a sheild during fights. This is shown in the first fight between aoshi and kenshin where aoshi uses his two kodachis as a sheild to block kenshins sword which is to divert him  from the kicks.Katanas on the other hand are long and are used mostly for offence.A good example is kyuzo.

Wow.... thats a news flash.... NOT....  besides Kyuzo does not use full length Katanas.

If you notice the fight between him and Kambei you will see the difference in the lengths of their weapons...

Kyo: what may be the most obvious information to some is sometimes comletely new to others.
I never mentioned kyuzo used used full length katanas I simply said katanas were long and that kyuzo used katanas be they full length or shorter than average.

My bad... but we have discussed this previously is what I meant to say... (Dont mind me I get edgy around exam times...)

Kodachi is the name for swords between full length Katana and Daggers..... which is why Kyuzo is actually wielding Kodachi not Katana.

Anyway the thread is for Aoshi so lets get back to him now...

They really did not give him any screentime after the shishio arc which kinda sucked.

True I feel they could have involved him more in the whole shougo amakusa saga.He only came in the first few episodes and that too only to give kenshin some information. But the episode where he comes to kyoto to pick up misao was a little compensation though.

Easy there... we are straying into spoiler territory again.

Too bad about the Jinchuu arc...some of the fights in that arc.... would have been amazing in animated form.....
