Blood, gore and violence
« on: March 26, 2007, 03:53:07 PM »

What was the anime which you thought had high decibel of blood/gore or violence?

Did the level of blood and violence justified the cause of the anime?

Discuss it here.

Heheheheh......

Basilisk (Mostly one on one..... so it wasnt terrible)

Berserk (A bit excessive in my opinion)

Gantz (Just the right amount..... I think...)

Speed Grapher (Just about right..... A bit less might have been perfect)

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (Lets just say it sated my appetite for blood)

Samurai Gun (Just about right..... a bit less would have been perfect)

Samurai Champloo (Perfect!!)

Elfen Lied (It was necessary..... lets call it Justifiable homicide......hehehehe)

among others.......

If you cant handle bloodshed then stay the hell away from Berserk..... it really gets excessive at times....... Lets just say that Elfen Lied seems to be a walk in the park after Berserk

I know GITS has been edited in the US, though..........but that scene was too crazy for them to keep....

ermm.......but i was talkin about the manga.....does our censor board really cut off bits from books as well.....now that i think of it...probably, since half the nations population is so prone to effigy burning over every damn thiing...

I know that..... what I was saying was that you cant really get a feel for the gore in the manga....... in animated form with the blood spattering etc...... thats when you really see it.......

I think the effigy burners would be too scared to try and burn any effigies if they saw the anime.......hehehehe

One example of an uncut and uncensored anime on animax was Card Captor Sakura... They showed all seasons as it is without altering dialogs, Chemistry, the situation or individual feelings of the characters... I guess I'm off topic now... Never see the kind of violence in anime as this thread describes... :(

BERSERK!

I know lots of people told this many times before but the violence and gore is all over the book

But its just the way I like it

The blood, sex, gore, nudity, senseless and often pointless violence.....love that manga

The story and characters are good too and the medieval background suits it  :)

I think that most of the violence in the manga are kinda necessary. I think it gives the reader a proper idea on how tough the hero (Guts, weird name though  :P) is.

Love it though
