How do you decide which series to watch?

How do you decide which anime series to watch?

Is it reviews? Online videos? Peer recommendation? Some site?

Lots of factors for me:
- Peer recommendations and description of anime storyline
- Searching for similar anime on anidb.net
- rating the anime has got ( > 6) on animedb.net
- reading online reviews on people's site

i haven't seen even 1 anime trailer till now i think.  most of the time i usually search for the anime name in anidb and read its description. If i like the description i put it in my to watch list which is like 200+ anime now.

I use animenewsnetwork's rating stats and recommendations from friends at anime/manga forums

Recommendations, reviews, and synopsis all combined... but I dont really care too much for the extremely popular series somehow... I usually go for a middle ground... I try to avoid the crowds of fanboys and girls...

-If it's an anime I watched before, I will watch again.
- If not, I will look for ratings.
- I only watch Horror, Romantic Comedies, and Fantasies. I never watch Mecha animes.
- I ask my friends.
- If I don't have any anime in mind, I will look for suggestions.
- And of course, the first impression and the animation graphics.

Hmm

1st it would have to include either romance, drama, or sick awesome action. No flashbacks (still never ever got around to finishing Claymore and many more) or if there are it's limited to 1 episode or if I had to take a guess somewhere around a full ep of time spread out over the entire series. From there I don't know I can't really take the same tone over and over again. Like with Nana, the end narration kept reminding me something sad was about to happen even when the episode was light and funny, so I lost interest.

I look for something as different from whatever I've just completed as possible.
Besides that, I guess it depends on the synopsis, really. Whatever happens to pique my interest at the moment.

I usually find anime on MyAnimeList then i read their pages.

1. Cover Art - Must be nice but not full of candy
2. Read Plot - Must be interesting
3. Read Reviews - Someone MUST say it is a masterpiece

I mostly only like dubs so I know what every dub series is pretty much about, I plan on watching every dubbed anime. For me its mostly about going to my dvd library and picking one out from the pile I havnt seen yet or finding a good rewatch.

I have a thing for Mystery and Psychological Anime so i watch most of them and the one similar, other than that i follow reviews, reaction from peoples who have watched.

I rented anime from Netflix and I would always check the trailers on the DVD to see what else looked interesting.

for the old ones the summary would do the new  sub ones i watch the first epsode then if i like it i will collect more to watch in bulk and dump the ones i dont like cause space is limited
overal romance wold be highly required
