Nostalgia named Doordarshan

Before the invasion of the satellite channels, Doordarshan or 'DD' was the lone network for the Indian viewers. Then in 1991, Manmohan Singh presented a budget and cable channels came to India and everybody forgot Doordarshan conveniently.

Today I came across some old Doordarshan clips and those brought back some fond memories of the good old Doordarshan days. I have quite a few nostalgic memories, since I grew up with those.

I have tried to compile a list of some of the popular series back then.

There was also DD's Comedy Show, Telematch (some superb inter-county german game show) too.
I also remember a Sharukh debut - Fauji (i think)

All these shows.. golden oldies... long gone... replaced by such crap its not even worth talking about... Not all of these shows were on DD... but... Meh... Just shows I liked.... and sorely miss...

heeeyyy even i watched almost all the above shows ... but i don remember em much cos i was a lil kid!!!
i jus used to watch em to kill time though i think i neve understood the content.. but i should definitely credit these progs for my hindi fluency..(me being a non hindi speakin person)..i remember tat i enjoyed dekh bai dekh, flop show,shriman shrimati,hum paanch , malgudi days,surabhi (they were really gr8 shows)..and all the cartoon shows!!!

there was another srk serial as well.. it was called "circus" if i m not mistaken  ..
apart from the ones others ve mentioned  above in the Children (animated) category v can add .. Mickey and friends, Talespin, Aladdin ,Chip and dale, i think there was something called 'mummies alive'..
there used to be a  music count down show cum drama called all the best...and recently i noticed tat chitrahar was still being aired in DD!!!

come to think of it jungle book was probably the first anime series i saw
