It's actually a pretty decent movie. Unfortunately, most of it won't make sense to anyone who hasn't played the game. In that regard, I think the later release (Advent Children Complete) was much better. At least it told enough of the back-story for the rest of the movie to make sense.

All the Final Fantasy movies just seem to be very action focussed. Not much plot here.

They had time to please the Final Fantasy 7 fan-base.
In that they did a great job-
A movie (Advent Children)
and Two video Games
(Dirge of Cerberus)
(Crisis Core)

But may I ask where's Final Fantasy VIIIs movie?
Can we have a FFVIII-2 and FFVIII-3?
And perhaps an "Advent Children VIII"?
I feel sooooo left out.

I have to agree with what someone else said. It's nice to look at, but story-wise it doesn't do much justice to Final Fantasy VII. You can watch the movie without playing the game (I kind of advise it, honestly), which is nice but... they change quite a number of character's characterizations without much explanation.

Even so, it does look nice. And all in all it isn't an awful movie.

I have to agree with you, they did change many of the characters motivations around, but it is pretty to look at!
