Laputa: Castle in the Sky
« on: June 02, 2007, 08:17:59 PM »
I can hardly remember the story. I saw this one as a kid (4yrs old). And i can remember nothing of the movie except for the title song. it's really good.

i think it's the first anime i've ever seen. it's god good story (i think) and NICE music.

it's about a girl (forgot her name  :P), who is actually a princess in a flying castle................( no this is not a dumb shoujo)............... who has this evil uncle who wants to take control of the world (i think. STUPID MEMORIES!!!)

and she runs away and meets all kinds of wierd people and especially a boy called "Patsu"(??? not sure) who helps her fight against her uncle.

well, it was good back then and i still love the music in it!

anyone else heard of this anime movie?

Pazu rescues an unconscious girl descending from the night sky with a glowing pendant around her neck. He helps the girl, Sheeta, to escape from the air pirates and the military who are obsessed with Laputa, a legendary kingdom on a floating island in the sky with which Sheeta is suspected of being connected.

1986,that's old indeed. And it's written and directed by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. Are there any more recommendations for this movie?

But still Hayao Miyazaki, that sounds like reason enough to watch it.

I've seen this movie, and I actually own it on VHS (wow, old!), but I haven't seen it in a long time... I think it's time to start up a Hayao Miyazaki marathon again, I barely remember this one -- just a girl floating down from the sky and a boy catching her, that scene I remember pretty well lol.

One of my absolute favorites, and in my opinion Miyazaki's best.
