After making big waves with his 2006 hit "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" Hosada has yet again delivered another outstanding "family" animation feature in "Summer Wars".

"Summer Wars" is an exquisitely crafted, romance tinged family comedy with generous helping of science fiction.

One of highlights of this movie, for me, was the realistic portrayel Natsuki’s huge extended family. Hosada effortlessly and convincing portrayed each and every character without resorting to easy stereotypes.

Artwork is top notch - the background, the details are beautifully rendered.

"Summer Wars" is a very good movie, however I personally feel "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" was a bit better.

Duuuuuude!!! Where did you get those screens? Did you find a version with softsubs? Or a clean RAW??? LINK ME!!!

Oh... and I liked this better then Toki Wa Kakeru Shoujo.... simply cause it was more lighthearted... I am in the mood for comedy nowadays....  which is why I am avoiding watching any of the heavy drama series I had lined up... my mood swings are wild and any drama I watch right now would probably get much less credit that it deserves from me....

That said... even objectively speaking... Summer Wars gives Toki wa Kakeru Shoujo a good run for its money....

The caps are from the Korean hard subbed release. I just avoided the subbed scenes...

If you are interested, a BDRip release (RAW) is already out: http://www.nyaatorrents.org/?page=download&tid=117083

T'was pretty good. Couldn't help but keep comparing it to Digimon The Movie at some parts. Unfortunately, as with many thing, I hyped it up too much in my mind and thus, it wasn't quite "all that".

I personally enjoyed it quite a lot!
The second half may have been a little rapid-paced compared to the first half, but the movie was, overall, very fun to watch.
And now I'm officially a King Kazuma fan... :D

I didn't intend to buy it on Blu-Ray, but Zavvi (UK online retailer) are having a rediculous anime sale and I got it and TGWLTT in a double pack for just under £7. RESULT.
