Despite her family's protests, Aoi Sakuraba decides that she is going to marry Kaoru Hanabishi, her love of eighteen years. Once he realizes that her intentions are genuine - and that she's not just trying to get him to reconcile with his estranged (and domineering) family - he begins to definitely warm up to the idea, too. What obstacles must the two overcome in order to be together?
Very rarely have I come across a romance anime with an opening as good as AYA. The first three-four episodes were just like a charm. It had the goodness and emotions of a heartfelt romance anime. However, after the initial episodes the series unexpectedly turned into harem and needless fanservice. Though, as the series progressed the focus was back on the Aoi and Kaoru. I still feel the series could have done without the fanservice part.
Another good aspect of this series was the excellent artwork and music.
