Black Cat (ブラックキャット, Burakku Kyatto?) is a manga and anime series by mangaka Kentaro Yabuki. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The series has concluded in Japan at 20 volumes. It is also licensed by VIZ Media, and the English release started on March 7, 2006 and is currently up to volume 8. The Black Cat anime, directed by Shin Itagaki, aired in Japan on the anime satellite television network Animax and the terrestrial TBS network beginning on October 6, 2005 and ending on March 30, 2006. It consists of 23 episodes and is produced by GONZO. The anime series is licensed by Funimation.

Black Cat is a balance between silly humor and serious moments, with an anti-hero cast battling somewhat typical evil plots

Uptil now i've liked the Manga....I've heard the anime isnt that good, but lets have a look shall we?

Just watched the first episode on Animax^_^
So far it is not that bad in my opinion.But the manga is definitely better than the anime(though I have read only one volume).

Over at animax forums, a lot of people seem to like it. I was quite amazed as  i thought the first episode was rubbish.

Black Cat is pretty cool...
Though yes.. the manga is so much better than teh anime...

though there are so many similatities with other anime..
But I guess it still is cool....

and now I feel its complete...utter...horrendous BULLSHIT!!!!
I mean..WTF??????at least if youre taking plot twists DO NOT TAKE IDEAS FROM A WELL RESPECTED AND FAMOUS MANGA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a COMPLETE rip off but it comes pretty close.... I still liked it..... I dont care about ripoffs too much.... I have grown up watching Bollywood movies after all....

I stopped watching the anime.It is getting kind of detached and it isnt that interesting anymore.I'm going to try and search for the manga

I suppose you either have a lot of optimism or a lot of pocket money...(or both) If you like to talk like that....
Seriously...a volume of Berserk costs 600bucks in India..that's not just a ripoff, it sucks too...coz very very very few titles are available...and most of em are incomplete....

If you have money to burn then fine... but I wouldnt put a BUY rating on this series.... besides it is unlikely that you will get it in India. Buying online is often cheaper and you get the complete sets much more easily.

Yeah they are costly in India but if the manga is really worth it then I dont mind paying more.If I can get it at the spot.By the way it has nothing to do with optimism more of a passion actually theres a lot of difference.

only first 6 posts are on topic...why go so much off topic....

anyway, i've not got to watch Black Cat for a whole week now....

i have no idea whats happened...and the story its a bit diff from the manga....

Train looks really cool...the yellow eyes was a nice touch..
