Just read till vol 13...

Oh God....

It 'borrows' from-
Baslisk
Detective Conan
Character Design like DBZ(character copied almost ditto from the Junchuu arc of Sam X)
And apparently Nanomachines are like Sanjay Dutt in an action movie...there is no limit to what they can do...they are like...plot devices..whenever some new 'power' or 'plot twist' comes..they blame it all on the nanomachines...

Dylan we are still talking about Black cat... albeit the discussion did move to the manga for some posts.

I will clarify by saying that my rating for the manga also applies to the DVD's for the anime series which I think will be out soon if not already released...

Black Cat is a series which will look and feel good for a while. But iit has a lot of ripped off elements in it which may leave a bad taste in the mouth at the end of it all.

um..it changes from epi 1. In the anime Train is still with Chronos when the Eve and Rinslet stuff happens. Sven works alone as a sweeper.

There is a major new arc at the end of the anime.... I think the last 5-8 episodes deal with it..... it really has been way too long since I saw Black Cat.... anyway... the arc is decent in the sense that it is not a ripoff from anything that I have seen (by my best recollection).

I wonder how come this still is in my wish list???

It's one of the only few anime/manga where the hero already so powerful and talented that he doesn't need any powerup/extras to beat the enemy :)

I watched the series once on the reccomendation of a collegue and did not like it much, it starts well but then they kill off the most interesting female, with no real warning and leave a huge hole in the potential plot, tho she does reappear at the very end of the series again..so they may have hoped to do a sequel. For many reasons it was not worth that and most fans were disapointed for it had a lot of potential, but falls flat over and over.

There is no real reason for the animosity of the main plot element..ie the battle between the main good guy and chief villan and it gets boring by the end sadly when it might have been ok if it were not the ONLY thing that the series ended up being about.

they tossed in their own verision of a "magical Girl" ie a female with super powers and dusted off a bunch of other borrowed elements and tried to give it a hyped up look and feel. Too bad for it might have been fun.
