Cowboy Bebop (See ya space cowboy...)
« on: March 13, 2007, 05:49:57 PM »
Cowboy Bebop is a really classic anime creation that needs no reasons or argument to prove that it really is one of the best anime ever made. Believe me. It's not an understatement. The picturization is amazing and has some of the really coolest music tracks made in the anime industry.

Cowboy Bebop also has some really difficult to understand frames that make it such a favorite in my list.

I agree with all the above posters, but this anime does not gets its due respect....cause 'ppl' really don't seem to be liking it. :(

Its an anime that's shld be seen completely, u can't understand the story or depth of this anime just by seeing a few episodes. Once u complete all the 26 episodes only then can one realize the 'awesomeness' of this anime.

My fav. episode wld be The last two:the real folk blues.
then: Speak like a Child.

and when humor steps in, then it wld be: Mushroom Samba. XD

Selenium, you finally saw Cowboy Bebop. I remember trying to persuade you to watch it on the Animax SA forums. Instead, you were pulling my leg, weren't you? See, I told you that you'll like it. It's a classic.

And in other news, Watanabe gave an interview earlier this year to the Daily Texan regarding CB. You can read it here

Excerpt:
Quote

DT: Are you talking about Spike’s relationship with Faye?

W: Of course. Sometimes I’m asked the question, ‘What does Spike think of Faye?’ I think that actually he likes her quite a bit. But he’s not a very straightforward person so he makes sure he doesn’t show it.

DT: Episode five of “Bebop,” “Ballad of Fallen Angels,” seems to be foreshadowing the events of the final episode. Is there a connection?

W: Actually all of the episodes that contain Vicious that come out in “Cowboy Bebop” are directly related to the ending. Even before I made the first episode, I already had the ending in mind. Even though I had the ending in mind by myself, I was opposed by my staff. They were upset because they were saying that we wouldn’t be able to make a continuation. So I told them I’d think about it a little more, but ultimately I decided to go with my original idea.

DT: I’m sure you’ve heard the next question a thousand times, and I apologize for asking again.

W: Then I pass. [Laughs]. I’m joking.

DT: When are we going to get to see more “Bebop”?

W: Someday … maybe, someday.

I think the best thing about Bebop is that everything is left to our own interpretation.

Sorry, But you can still persuade me now... :)
I've only seen 40% of Cowboy Beebop... and that too the starting few Episodes...

But I admire whatever I've seen...
And I regret going to the extra classes when Animax was airing it :P

I wonder if you have completed it yet SG... but in case you havent keep watching it... and if you have I think you will understand why people give it such a high ranking... this is Watanabes greatest work along with Samurai Champloo in my opinion...

I would have been perfectly happy if this series went on forever. I absolutely adore Spike and even though I have the series on DVD, whenever they play it on Adult Swim I always have to watch. It's just so addicting!  :P

Alas...

The ending kills all hope of ever continuing the series...
I liked spike and his "I don't give a damn!"attitude.

The series was the best... and the rest wasn't anything to write home about...

Part of the reason I married my husband is that he reminded me of Spike, which oddly until a year or so later we never knew we both loved this series. Oldie and a goodie, I am looking now to get the collection on DVD so we can share with our kiddo when shes a tad older. :D

I still remember the first time I watched Cowboy Bebop.  We watched it on a DVD that my friend had.  It was my second exposure to anime, my first, really, as an adult. What a great show.  =)

To be honest, I can't really think of any fans who wouldn't find something to enjoy in Cowboy Bebop. The excellent blending of genres and styles is what makes this series so special and unique. For me, Cowboy Bebop is definitely a keeper.

@ Seleniumm - Nice question. I would say that Watanabe never bothered to cover on the history of Spike. He was always....

Spoiler for Hiden:
He was always shown fighting besides Vicious in Spike's dreams, along with Julia, that is.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! Wait, now I remember!

Spoiler for Hiden:
It was cause Spike had equal rights to the Mafia Throne or something! And Vicious wanted to remove all possible threats, hence his desire to kill Spike. Though ironic as it was, Spike never really has any interest in that Throne.
