Are the two lead characters in Deathnote gay?

people tell me often but is it true?


I haven't read the manga or seen the anime but im just curious.

Lead Characters are

Light/Raito Yagami and the detective known only as 'L'

Neither one of them is gay.

Its just that theres a lot of Yaoi Doujinshi floating around because of some scenes in the manga.

death note suspence was good in the start i havent seen the full series though only 26 episodes does anyone else like death note my favorite character is Yagami light

Death note is ok.It just loses itself after the L arc and the ending is just horrible.

Anywayz...i have only read the manga, and seen about 8 to 9 episodes of the anime....and i am v. much impressed by this series. :D

But yeah...the manga was much better till L-arc.

I think it has been well established the the manga is better up till the L arc. Try not to repeat yourselves.... especially if future posters are not going to add anything significantly different to their posrts.

and i saw some scenes from the LIVE ACTION movie from my friend's place.


TOTLAY ROCKED but i must say that the casting could have been a little better, ........ with people who actually LOOKED like the characters  :D

anyways, i couldn't get the last 2 vols of the manga. DAMN INTERNET! never gives u wat u want!

anyways, i might just leave it there co the whole thing is kinda boring with the wannabe Ls  :P

but i must say that the Ryuk looks COOL in the live action! except for that and the part where THE WOLE MOVIE IS JAP, it sucks. not totally. it lacks something.

and a certain blonde girl looks like SHIT in the movie. she's not even BLONDE!

what a let down!
i am totaly pissed!
but i'll see it for the sake of seeing it.

time to get ready to read some subtitles  :D

I thought the guy who played L did a decent job. Ryuk was the best of course (in the movie) Dont expect a translated version anytime soon though. A few months down the line maybe.....

I've just started watching The Last Name. I think Kenichi makes a great L. No wonder they're making a spin off with him, can't wait for that. The attitude was all there. Raito was disappointing. I mean, manga!Raito and anime!Raito are scheming, manipulative etc but movie Raito was so mello and hardly driven.

IMHO, since the movie was so liberal with the plot, I really don't mind about Misa and I actually liked her. I am one of those bunch of people who always have wished that Misa was smarter and could actually provide the two guys with some competition. Too bad, Ohba made her take Light's side. And the blonde pig tails really don't help her IQ.
The movie Misa is a better version. Consider this scene:

Of course, I do have my pet peeves. One, REM is male in the movie. Two, the opening song is .... "Dani California"?! I love that song but the thing is... everytime I hear it... I think of California?!

On about the anime, has anyone else seen the second opening? That's probably the weirdest songs I have ever heard. But the imagery is good.

You and I really do seem to think alike in many ways.... Im getting kinda freaked out now...

Yeah I didnt care about Misa either... but I didnt mind Rem being male... In fact I was kinda surprised by the manga when it said shes is a female....

Alike? On which thought?

After watching the movie, I have sort of accepted Rem's gender. It makes more sense to make REM male since he/she was so protective of Misa.

I agree with nearly every thing in your post which is why I said we seem to think alike....

Yeah the way she went on about protecting Misa was made me think that Rem was male.... but turns out she wasnt.....

I have a theory...when the deathgod/shinigami who loved Misa died REM was asked to take his deathnote.It could be that his love for Misa passed on or something like that?
The live action movie is simply amazing and I loved Kenichii Matsuyama.
My favourite character:Light(L is adorable but I can relate more to Light and I like how they developed his character.)
I actually kind of liked the ending too, to say the truth.
