Each short story of which the series consists describes the suffering of a different individual caused by one or more antagonists. A website known as Jigoku Tsūshin may only be accessed at midnight by one who harbors a desire for revenge against their tormentor. Should someone submit the name of one they hate, the Jigoku Shōjo (Hell Girl) will offer them a black straw doll with a red string wound about its neck. If the string is pulled, she will ferry the recipient of the revenge straightaway to Hell, but on the condition that those who request her intervention fall into Hell as well at the end of their natural lives

Ok, so anyone like JS.....i like it.......its quite engrossing actually....does get a  bit repetative at times.....but its good.......

yap its really nice 2 see...puts the evil nature of mine into action...but at times it gets predictable n i get sick of the same ol punch :lol:...but its definitely worth seein

I think Its pretty good especially the story lines for the first few episodes.But I feel its kind of unsatisfactory if you watch the first season alone but if you do watch the second season the most of the loose ends are tied up and its pretty interesting.But I love it most of all for the few good episodes with one of the best twists I have seen and the representation of the human psych.

Ah! So you have seen the 2nd season (Jigoku Shojo Futakomori). Are there any significant difference in the two seasons? How about the live-action drama? Have you seen that as well?

Its quite interesting that this anime series was adapted into manga. Now that doesn't happen very often, does it.

Well 2nd season did clear a few things up I guess... it is a good anime in the end... but I guess my expectations were raised too high by the rave review's I had gotten about it from others....

One difference I did note is that unlike the first season where ai and the client were leads the episodes in the second season focus on ichimoku ren,onna,the old guy and the new addition karinui.It shows their past and how they got together with ai.
