The story begins with a young high school student, Keita Ibuki. Keita notices that people around him are dying. He further notices that right after people talk about seeing their double, they die. The tragedies hit close as dear friends die as well.
In defending a girl who was under attack from some thugs, Keita suffers a fatal wound. He wakes to find out that his life has been saved by, and is bound to, a strange and out-of-place girl (the one he saved). From here, Keita encounters questions about how the world works, the role of fate, and whether he can defy fate to create a future of his own choosing.
A good story. I highly recommend it.
