Anidb Link: a288

Description:
Quote
From Anidb
Godai is a ronin (someone who has failed university entrance exams) living in a run down apartment house called Maison Ikkoku. Among the other residents are the nosy Ichinose, the sexy Akemi Roppongi, and the mysterious Yotsuya. The others are given to having wild parties which makes it difficult for Godai to study. Into this mayhem comes the recently widowed Kyoko as the new live-in manager. Godai falls for her, but doesn't have the nerve to tell her. As time passes, their relationship slowly develops amid life at Maison Ikkoku, despite all sorts of romantic hurdles.

Genre: Comedy, Coming of age, echi, daily life, romance

Just started watching this show. I must say that it starts rather dull but two episodes later it gets interesting and is quite funny too.
Has an ova and movie too, but I believe those are just recaps of these 96 episodes.

At times it drags a bit, but it still has the charm that a lot of rom-com anime lack...

Yeah... Godai wasnt my favorite character... but Yotsuya, Akemi and Mrs Ichinose really kept me going... they are the real stars of the show IMHO... Helped that Kyokos character design was similar to Madoka in some ways.... I was totally into Madoka then... (still am s'matter of fact... :D)

OOH, one of the best I've ever seen and one of my favourites! I don't think Animax aired this one though.

This is just proof that "older" anime's have more heart and substance.  I wish this would reair or be re-released somewhere.
