Firefox Add-Ons
« on: July 09, 2007, 02:24:06 PM »
One of the many reasons that Firefox is so much better than Internet Explorer, is that various add-ons can be added. There are tons of them. And it can be developed by anybody, so thats another advantage.

Tell us what Add-ons u use. And recommend Add-Ons for others.

Add-Ons that I use--

ChatZilla- A clean, easy to use, highly extensible IRC Client.

Del.iciou.us Bookmarks- This one's very useful.

DOM Inspector- I dont even know why i have this...

Download Statusbar- Instead of a separate window when downloading, this gives a tidy bar that appears at the bottom of the window

Down Them All - A Mass Downloader.

Fasterfox -  Tweaks a few things and makes Firefox faster. Highly Recommended.

Foxy Tunes- Very Helpful. You can play music right from the browser. No need to open a separate player.

Grease Monkey- If you install a few scripts after downloading, you can modify certain pages.. meaning it adds a Quick Reply box for the Animax Forums. It also adds Quick Edit and Quick Quote. Highly Recommended.

Peeko Chat- Opens a small chat thing. People on the same website having the software can chat with each other.

Tab Mix Plus- Adds a few extra features for your tabs. Quite helpful.

Video Downloader- Lets you download videos from You Tube and other Video uploading sites. Downloads in FLV format. So you'll need a FLV player.

---------------

Themes

---------------

Blue Ice

iFOX smooth- Makes it look Apple-ish

Red Shift- Hurting to the eyes. Not that good.

My Firefox- Makes it look like IE latest version.

---------

I'd recommend Blue Ice and iFOX Smooth. They're both good.

...........

Wow so many Add ons. No wonder my Firefox takes ages to open  o_O

oh addons ,they are awesome !
here are my favs
Smiley Xtra [ has a variety of smileys , can be added to posts , blogs etc]

Zotero[ lets u add annotations or comments to a webpage for ur later reference , like if ur making a project u can write in ur ideas on certain words..eg. add a meaning of a word on top of it !]its pretty cool
Snap links [opens multiple links from a selected area into new tabs!]
Ad block plus[ ohh stupid ads are history with this!! ]
Session manager [saves and restores state of all windows  8) woah a relief after unannounced POWERCUTS !]
Foxy tunes , video downloader
Colourful tabs [word says it all , a new colour for a new tab!! yippee]
Hash coloured tabs + [ this ones ok , sometimes is distractive but i still have it ]
IE tab [ enables use of internet explorer , oh i have it cuz my brother does heh]
...........................
Theme
Nasa Night Launch [ its a dark theme , i really like it ]
i had one theme cant remember its name , it got deleted :( it was cool with a bluish effect on the tabs. oh a thing i learnt for addons if u want to keep them forever .. pretty easy just save them 1st in the comp rather that directly downloading to firefox ! u can load them in firefox later like if u have different users in one comp ,u wudnt have to download for each of them
 :)
