I've a shitty 150 Kbp/s

150 Kilo bytes? That's a lot. I have 256 kilo bits connection but get around 28 kilo bytes for download and 25 kilobytes for upload. Even with this I'm not able to see everything which I download. I have a big backlog.

Well... the speed varies here (Live in a Boys Hostel... shared connection)

On days of low traffic I can get a whopping 250 KB/s download and 200 KB/s upload
On days of heavy traffic I get a wonderful figure of 1 KB/s...

Internet service providers fool customers. By playing with the letter 'B' in Download/upload rate plan.

2MBps is 2 Mega bits per second(Not 2 Mega bytes per second).

Which is equal to 256 Kilo Bytes per second. That is the actual maximum Download transfer rate for a client, only if the server from where one downloads also gives the same upload rate.

I have 48 Kilo Bytes per second for download and 32 Kilo Bytes per second for upload. Its pretty sad isn't it?

I am sure you all know this by now. I just posted this info for anyone who doesn't.
