FUNimation Entertainment announces the acquisition of the 26-episode Suzuka anime series from Kodansha. The anime series is based on the manga by Kouji Seo and follows Yamato Akitsuki as he begins life in a new city and a new school. His first day at school is one he will never forget as he gazes on Asahina Suzuka and falls in love. Love triangles will tangle, hearts will be broken, and dreams will both be realized and shattered.
The Suzuka series will come to DVD in
Summer 2007. The Suzuka manga is published by Del Rey in the United States and we are in the early stages of discussing cross promotions. Fans can expect Suzuka promotions during FUNimation’s 2007 convention tour. More details to come as they are developed.
